“So what’s your favorite….”
I hate it when people ask me those type of questions. I’ve never been one to show favoritism. For example, there is no way I could answer the question, “What’s your favorite movie?” I mean, c’mon, there are millions of movies in existence, how am I supposed to choose just one as the very best? How about, “what’s your favorite food?” Gah, how can I have a food I prefer the best? Favorites, it’s just too overwhelming for me to pick.
With that being said, another category that I really, really, REALLY hate choosing a favorite is music. My personal philosophy: Anything with a rhythm is worth giving a shot. I guess it’s fitting that I’m the sous-chef for The Appetizer. Our chef and host, D. Grant Smith, serves up a smorgasbord of musical flavors each episode.
Tomorrow’s episode is another full course menu of delectable delicacies. D. Grant delves into hour two of his Deep Cuts series, serving up some Red Hot Chili Peppers, sprinkled with Pearl Jam and Nirvana, swirled with Counting Crows, and topped with Smashing Pumpkins. Of course, many other tasty tidbits from musicians you’ve heard of, but tracks you might not have tasted.
Here’s a little sample to tide you over until tomorrow. Check out this great song by Better Than Ezra, “Happy Endings.”
D. Grant Smith will offer up another great Better Than Ezra track tomorrow, so don’t miss out!
