It’s counter to business culture to tell you of other places to go and partake in musical cuisine.
I’m counter-culture. Here’s the thing: there’s plenty of options for you to find and discover great music, even sample it. I’m thankful that you choose The Appetizer as one of those options. The key is to know where to go and not waste time with sites or sources that don’t have great stuff to present.
Daytrotter is an excellent choice, although if you’re not a fan of paying for content or subscriptions then you can only partake in their offerings for 30 days. But every day they have something new to offer in terms of exclusive sessions with emerging acts.
Paste is another great source to find some cool new music and fresh cuts from indie artists. They have samples, free music and a lot more. Check out this recent post about a music festival.

Heather Browne
And there’s some cool indie blog sites too that I’m a big fan of. One is FuelFriends with Heather Browne. Heather’s contributions to emerging music and house concerts are really outstanding. She first turned me on the the great work of The Head And The Heart.
If you’re an indie blogger or read some great indie music blogs, please share them with me. I’d love to have some more people to connect with. And if you missed our radio show this past week (The Music Market) go check it out now and stream it to your laptop, smart phone or tablet.
