Sound Bites: #Grownupz

FEiN_Photo When I find a new band that I haven’t heard before, the initial thought wave is to try and see who the new band sounds like. Sometimes, that’s easier said (or thought) than done. With indie-pop act FEiN, their synth-led rock style is reminiscent of Chairlift and Vampire Weekend with a twinge of Gorillaz.

In #Grownupz, the rock duo dance-pop melodies build to simmer out in a folk themed chorus before building new textures in instrumentation, vocal production effects, and lyrical brilliance. By the end of #Grownupz, the feeling of similarity dove into early work from The Killers (had they been around in the 80s). Too many cool sounds to try and describe with words. You have to experience it to fully find the appreciation.

How would you describe it?
