Best So Far

As you may know, I’ve been doing a lot of updating and working to put our Program Archive online so that you can enjoy any of our previous 460+ programs anytime you want. In the process of assembling all that audio content, I’ve been re-listening to a lot of stuff that we’ve heard this year. It got me thinking about what I feel is some of the best music thus far. So I wanted to just post a few categories and see what you had to say about it. So, comment and let me know what tracks are you favorites at this point in 2012 from what has been featured on the show. And if I’ve missed something that you feel deserves credit, or be included in this list, let me know.

Sound Connections Menu

We’re all attracted to some similar and some different flavors of music. What is it that draws you and I to the sounds we listen to? That’s the question I’m diving into this hour with music that I have a connection with and I’ll share that with you including some brand new music from our good friend and Appetizer artist Lindsay Katt, who has given me an early copy of her album Happy Fits Of Rage. We’re the first to hear it and The Appetizer is the first media outlet to feature it. This week’s show is all about our connection to music, and what draws us to what we listen to. If you missed the show, or part of it this week, you can hear it online here until May 5th.
Enjoy!

Best of 2011

We covered A LOT of music this past year, some from people you know and more from people you don’t. As always, it was a lot of fun.

What did you think was the best from what we featured? You can let your voice be heard by voting in the ">Golden Fork Awards.

Closing out the year this weekend, I’m going to feature some fantastic music that came out this year. Some of it, I have to admit, I discovered a bit late. But as the old adage goes, better late than never.
If you are fans of acoustic folk, then you know the names Rosi Golan and Ari Hest. What you might not know, is that this year that teamed up and put out an EP as a duet, calling themselves The Open Sea. The album is full of richly crafted folk music and the way their two voices blend together is quite remarkable. That’s one feature I’ll present in our upcoming presentation.

I don’t want to give away much more. Be sure to check out Facebook page to see more of the artists we’ll be featuring.
