Burlap To Cashmere release new album

If you haven’t checked out Burlap to Cashmere, you are missing out.

The band isn’t new to the music scene, but it has been a while since their latest album. But, it was definitely worth the wait. Don’t take my word for it, check out this album review from americansongwriters.com.

Burlap to Cashmere has toured with Christian groups, such as Jars of Clay and NEEDTOBREATHE, and won various awards, but this album is something completely different to what Burlap to Cashmere fans are used.

I got a listen of the new self-titled album and I was instantly hooked. The album isn’t overtly Christian, but it is full of inspired lyrics about love, hope, and life.

I got a chance to talk with Burlap to Cashmere’s lead singer, Steven Delopoulos. I asked him about a few of my favorite songs from the album. It was an insightful and fun conversation. I’m getting the interview ready to serve up as the latest Music Morsels Podcast, so be on the look out for that. I’ll let you know when it’s available.

Anyways, I know your wondering now, “What is Meagan’s favorite tracks from the new album?” Oh, don’t worry I’ll share. :)

1. The Other Country

This track has kind of a country band feel crossed with a hymnal. In fact, Steven shared that when they were creating the song, he was aiming for a Bob Marley hymnal feel. The lyrics are very inspiring and full of hope. Check out this behind the scenes look at the recording of The Other Country.

2.Closer to the Edge

This song is about living life and not being afraid of what’s next. It’s got a 60′s tune feel, I love it. Here’s another behind the scenes video.

3. Build a Wall

This song is so unique. I promise, but the end of the song you will be singing right along. Check out the story of this tune.

Burlap to Cashmere’s album is available on iTunes, Amazon, and stores everywhere. Want more info on the guys? Visit their website, http://www.burlaptocashmere.com/
