Cold As Cold

I took an emergency family trip this past week to visit my in-laws in New Mexico. When we arrived last Sunday it was nice and balmy, 78 degrees and warm. Two days later a winter hell blew in and froze the state, Texas and everywhere else. Wherever you are, if you’re not frozen or under 2 inches of ice and snow, praise God because you’re more blessed than most of the country.

We had planned on coming back to Abilene Wednesday. I talked to my employees at the radio station and the university is shut down for the 2nd day in a row. In Clyde, there’s 6 inches of snow on the ground and every thing is closed. Dallas is shut down. We’re still planning on leaving today and driving really slow just to get back.

In the likelihood that cold remains over our region and travel areas, there might not be a blog again until Friday. I’d apologize for that but it seems like it’s that time of the month for Mother Nature and she’s a bit more bitchy this time than usual. Wherever you are, please be safe.
