Music is a great many thing. It is a friend and companion at times, it heals and mends hearts, it strengthens and builds, it motivates, and brings people together. It’s also a way for people to connect with others to do something, even overcome obstacles. I had the privilege of speaking with a very talented singer-songwriter named Christa Black. She’s an author and songwriter who has written a book and composed an accompanying cd called God Loves Ugly. In the book, she identifies specific things applicable to all of us that have affected how we see ourselves and others. It’s a powerful thing.
I learned a lot from that conversation, and reading her book has helped me identify some stuff in me that’s affected the way I look at the world, and even how I love people and love myself. I’d strongly encourage you picking it up and checking it out for yourself. You can find out more about the book and cd by going to www.christablack.com.
