2011 Podcast-Christa Black (singer/songwriter)
It’s amazing what time can do for you. We’ve all experienced the trauma and difficulty of not only adolescence, but the difficulties of self-discovery and finding self-worth. While touring with The Jonas Brothers, Christa Black (performing violin for the band) discovered her voice as a woman with a powerful message for young girls: You are beautiful.
Taking that message to audiences beyond the stage is what birthed a unique and amazing project: God Loves Ugly. This project was released as both a book and an album, with each song telling a piece of the individual chapters. Though intended for girls, the book is a great story of self-worth and overcoming bullying/demeaning remarks that we have all endured growing up. The album achieves greatness in originality as well.
