On post-election day, I feel it’s necessary for us ALL to celebrate. Regardless of whether your selected candidate(s) won or lost. We’re still a free people who get to decide who our leaders will be.

I have several friends who are not American citizens but are here on work visas. They want desperately for the chance to vote and participate in elected government. They’re envious of Americans for that, and can get upset by those who would rather not participate and vote.

I’m not going to talk politics here, because I love unity and not division, and politics seems to bring the passions out of people as well as create division and hostility.

D Grant Smith presents a Golden Fork to Iron & Wine back in 2009.

What I am going to say is, I’m working to put together nominations for the 2012-2013 Golden Fork Awards. That is the special honor of the best music heard on The Appetizer Radio Show this year.

You are the ones who decide by casting votes. We’ll do email votes again this year. More on that later. I want and need your help in determining the nominations. Band or song sames can be told here in the Comments, or on Facebook. Thanks.
