While driving to my Christmas destination, I had a thought regarding the 12 Days of Christmas. What if instead of the traditional “5 Golden Rings, 4 Calling Birds, etc” for 12 days, you could get a series of certain artists’ music collections, cds, live performances or similar? What would I pick, and even further, could I rewrite the holiday song to reflect these selections?
I don’t have concrete answers here, because the more I think of it, the more the artists change and the more variety I’d want. I’d probably start with 1 exclusive interview, concert, behind-the-music session with one of my all-time favorite artists. But which one? I’m going to settle on Brandi Carlile.
The more I’ve tried to spell out what amount of what artists’ music and potential for hosting live concerts and in-studio sessions, the more I’m stunted by indecision. So I’ll leave it to you. Below are the artists I’d want a part of our 12 Days of Music. Tell me through comments what various amounts of (what in particular) you’d like. I’ll give away an exclusive gift to one of our commenters. Make sure you subscribe to our blog to allow us to contact you.
Artists for 12 Days: Iron & Wine, Dry The River, Brett Dennen, Blindside, Bruce Springsteen, James Vincent McMorrow, Rachael Yamagata, Trevor Hall, and Pearl Jam.
As you can see, including Brandi Carlile that’s 10. You pick 2 other artists and how much content/engagement you’d want. It all has to fit into the 12 Days of Christmas style amount. So you could have 11 autographed albums of Springsteen‘s collection, 10 hours of Pearl Jam on DVD, etc. Comment here, give your list and I’ll give away a FREE DVD from our recent Anniversary Concert as well as some autographed collector’s items.
Thanks and have a happy holidays!
