Storytelling is what makes great songwriters connect with listeners. German songwriter Wesley Collin George, billed as WCG, takes redemptive writing and pairs it with well-composed rock anthems to craft powerful songs to stir emotions and new music connections. Though the subject matter dives into more faith-based realms, the appeal extends to fans of rock, alternative, and pop.

From the first song on WCG’s page, titled Slipping Away, the roots of detail are present in every area of the track. Well written drum patterns scamper through a positively tuned storyline about hope in dark places. The song serves as not only a great starting place for WCG’s music experience, but also reveals much about the intention he has with his art.
Vocals are another place where Collins shines, even in slowly paced ballads like This Road, where prayer for balance becomes request for direction. The blend between rock, pop, and singer-songwriter genres is balanced well across the board with Whatever, a song about faith in any circumstance. The song is currently trending at #1 on Reverbnation charts.
Completing the short set is Confusion, a pop-punk tune recalling the sounds of Relient K, Hang Nail, Slick Shoes. Fans of bands from the Tooth and Nail label of the early 2000s will find something sweet and savory in the music of WCG.
